Safe at Home

Safe Sitter’s Safe@Home is a 90-minute program for students in grades 4-6, facilitated by a Safe Sitter® Instructor. This program provides students with important safety training that will help students be prepared to stay home alone and take their first steps towards independence. 

 This program will help students learn how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses.

**Completing this program does not mean that a student is ready to stay home alone. Only the student’s parents can make that decision, based on the age, maturity, skills, experience, and confidence level of their child.
