Grants

The Town of Townsend routinely applies for Federal, State and other grants to enhance town revenue sources and accomplish projects that would otherwise be competing for local tax dollars.  Secured funding helps to reduce the Town’s reliance on tax dollars to support its programs and services.  Current grant funded projects include:

Green Communities Division Grant for the implementation of energy conservation measures in town buildings in the amount of $163,576

Equipment Grant to replace outdated nozzles on town fire trucks in the amount of $13,457

Equipment Grant for the purchases of an Automated External Defibrillator for the Fire Department in th amount of $2,500

Small Bridge Improvement Grant for replacement of the Greenville Rd Bridge in the amount of $500,000

Sustainable Materials Recovery Program Grant for the Board of Health in the amount of $9,600

Nashua, Squannacook, and Nissitissit Rivers Wild & Scenic Stewardship Council Grant for Phase II of the Adams Dam stabilization project in the amount of $4,533

State Formula Grant for the Council of Aging in the amount of $16,944

LRTA State Bus Grant for the Council of Aging in the amount of $71,955

Executive Office of Elder Affiars Earmark Grant for the Council of Aging in the amount of $20,000
