Harbor Trace Water Treatment Plant

Update

Water Lines: Water lines are installed up to 128 South Row Road but they are not in operation till spring. This week, temporary patching will be done for new water mains, permanent patching of South Harbor and South Row will be done in the spring. Loam will be put down along South Harbor Road to support the edges of pavement and cleaning up odds and ends in preparation for winter. Water lines will be finished then in the spring 2024.

Treatment Plant: The Block walls are almost complete and will be finished in the next few weeks and the beginning of finished block will begin the first week of December. The Second week of December will begin the installation of metal beams and roofs, to close in the office and garage by years end. The treatment Plant portions roof will be installed after the filters are in place in late February to Early March.

Paving: Harbor Trace Road and South St at Harbor Trace Road will be Paved summer 2024. Along with permanent patching of South Row and Emery next summer.

Testing: The testing of the treatment Plant will begin in fall of 2024. The Plant in still scheduled to complete Nov 2024.

Opening and operation of The Plant: will begin winter of 2024-2025

October 2023 Harbor Trace Treatment Plant Update

In The Build October Update

1) Rehabilitation of South Harbor Road begins Monday 30 Oct 2023 with pavement grinding, drainage and grading.

2) Monday 6 Nov 2023 paving begins on several roads, patching of Ash St, patching South St, patching Harbor Trace Road and full 2 coats of pavement. South Harbor Road will be a few feet wider than before.

3) Spring 2024 Ash St will be ground and paved completely from the wells to South Harbor Road.

4) Spring Summer 2024 Harbor Trace Road and South St from Harbor Trace to South Harbor Road will be ground and paved completely.

5) November installation will begin on the new water main on South Harbor Road and South Row Roads.

6) The Water Treatment Plant continues its progress all floors are completed.

Walls are going up now and through November into December. Roof will be installed in in December and building will be closed in and made watertight.

September 2023 Harbor Trace Treatment Plant Update

1) Testing of the first water transmission main begins today for Phase one (Ash St to Harbor Trace), this should last about 2 weeks.

2) The outlet main on Harbor Trace Road ending on South St will be done next week and will be tested the following week.

3) After a successful test the water mains will go into operation.

4) After a successful test on the Ash St watermain, the witches brook well will be severed from Ash St and will only feed the Transmission main. This should help with the occasional water discoloration in Timberlee Park.

5) After the switch over Paving will begin on Ash St, South Harbor Road, South St, and Harbor Trace Road. This will be done by the end of October at the latest.

6) Phase Two of the water main project will begin by the end of October. The project will begin at South Harbor Rd at Ash St and will continue down South Row Road to Emery Rd and down Emery Road.

7) In October for the treatment Plant Floors will be poured in the first half of the month and wall will start the second half of the month of October.

8) Steel arrives for the roof in November to be able to enclose the building by December.

9) Filters arrive in February.

10) Final Paving will be done in the spring and summer for the building and Harbor Trace Road.

August 2023 Harbor Trace Treatment Plant Update

The Building:

  • The foundation has been completed.
  • All water mains on the property are completed.
  • In floor electrical and plumbing has begun
  • Concreate for the floors will be poured in September.
  • Walls and doorways will be started about 1 October.
  • A septic system is now being installed.
  • Steel arrives in November for the roof.
  • Filters arrive in the middle to the end of February.

The Water Mains:

  • Ash St will be finished by the end of August.
  • final connections at Harbor Trace Road, South St, and Ash St will be made in September.
  • Testing of the watermains will be done in the middle of September.
  • Phase one of the water main project will be completed and will move to restoration.
  • Phase two will begin in October.

Road Restoration:

  • Harbor Trace Road will be patched and allowed to settle till spring.
  • Harbor Trace Road will receive a base coat in the spring.
  • Harbor Trace Road will receive its final pavement in summer to early Fall.
  • Ash St will be patched in October and left to settle; final pavement will be installed in the spring.
  • South Harbor Road will be regraded, and a base coat installed in October, with the final coat installed in the spring with Ash St. This is limited to Ash St to South St
  • South St will be repaved with South Harbor Road only from South Harbor Road to Harbor Trace Road
