Notice of Upcoming Sidewalk Project

Townsend was recently awarded funding from a MassTrails Grant to improve pedestrian connectivity. The Squannacook River Rail Trail Connectivity project aims to create a new shared-use path that can serve to safely connect the western and eastern sections of the Rail Trail through the corridor between Harbor Church and South Street. This path will be built in the right-of-way of Route 119. Starting in November, you may notice a field crew in this area collecting survey information to assist in the planning and design for this path prior to its planned construction next spring.
