Discuss:

FY 22 Budget – At this time the town still has deficit. Department’s budget will to be reviewed by BOS.

Playground Opening- A discussion was held on opening the playground for the season.  The Governor has allowed 100 people to gather at outside events.  Signs will be in placed, area raked/cleaned and a safety check done on equipment.  John moved to have a “soft” opening for the playground all were in favor motion carried.  Playground Director to announce on face book

Porta Potties- Due to budget constraints there will be no porta potties at this time.  Playground to use their funds if they are allowed in the future.  Common events will need to make arrangements for their own.

Superintendents Report:  Roger reported that the job description for the superintendent may need to be updated to read five plus years’ experience in order to make the job description in line with other Superintendents.  John made a motion to change the wording to read 5+ years’ experience.  Tubby second all were in favor motion carried.

Shared Streets- Roger was approached by people working on the grant to install a bike rack in the common parking area.  Installing a bike rack would not be a problem however the department does not want to maintain the bike rack.  The Shared Street group is also meeting with the Historic District Commissions regarding signage and other issues which might impact the area.

Adams Dam.  A $5,000 grant is being submitted.  This is a project that Jennifer Pettit had previously been working on.  It would allow for a 12ft gate to prohibit cars from approaching the river.  People would still be able to walk to the river. Cost of the gate would be approx. $1600.  Boulders would be placed as a barrier; this is the least evasive method.  Veronica Kell from the BOS and Jennifer Pettit were happy with these solutions. John moved to approve Adams Dam Project all were in favor motion carried.

MBTA will need to be involved with the trestles.  To replace the old wooden stairs will be difficult because loose soil/gravel. Area will need to be cleaned up.
