Cemetery & Parks Meeting

February 10, 2021

Kimball House

The meeting was opened at 12:15PM present were Tubby Boucher, Ray Boyes, John Barrett (remotely) Roger Rapoza, Drew Funk and Pam Haman.

Bills, payroll and deeds were reviewed approved and signed.

Correspondence:  Memo was received from BOS regarding the submission date for Town Meeting and Special Town Meeting Articles.

Discuss: Columbarium Article: A brief discussion was held on the size and style of a columbarium for Hillside Cemetery.  John moved to approve up to $15,000 from Sale of Lots Fund for a columbarium at Hillside Cemetery. Tubby second.  All were in favor. Article will be submitted for annual town meeting.

Capitol Planning:  May not be funded thus year due to finances.  Roger will sit with the Capitol Planning Committee to review the columbarium.  If the town is unable to assist in the funding the Cemetery and Parks could fund the complete project.

Budget: Roger reported that at the department head monthly meeting yesterday the Jim Kreidler reported that the school is looking for an increase (2.4%) Both Pepperrell and Townsend stated that would be difficult to fund.  Townsend is already starting with a deficit.   The BOS want to fund the Collins Report however this may not be a good time to put in place as the cost is approx. $85,000.

Superintendents Report:  Roger and Drew are in the same wage/classification category.  Town Administrator is aware and issue is being addressed.  Union negotiations for Supervisors still on going.

Veronica Kell, BOS is trying to get the website to be more user friendly.  Veronica also would like to have departments heads submit monthly reports again.  The Commissioners did have some concerns, as Roger already reports to the Commissioners monthly at the department meetings.

Roger and Drew having been assisting Rob at the Town Hall in repairing the snowblower.  Any parts that are needed will be paid for from Town Hall funds.

The Town will be able to get 1,000 for the trucks as salvage.

Next meeting is scheduled for 3/10/21.

Meeting was adjourned at 12:500PM
